I thought that this was supposed to be summer??? Today it has been back to winter weather, with everybody rugged up in jumpers again. Mind you, I'm not grumbling - I LOVE the cooler weather. The photo (above left) was taken facing west, and the one on the right was taken facing east from our driveway.
I love the change in seasons - I love the soft caramel of stubble in the fields - I love the harsh contrast between the lush green paddocks of winter and the dry and parched landscape of summer. God created seasons for a reason, and in Genesis 8:22, He says, "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."
God also tells us, in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." I praise God for every good and perfect gift that comes down from the Father of Lights, in whom is no variableness nor shadow of turning; I give thanks for the rain that He has so generously sent us, and the cooler weather after the 40°C days.

Your seasons are opposite to ours, we have dry Winter and Summer is (supposedly) the rainy season. It has cooled a lot here which is lovely but no rain :-(
The storm pics are lovely/
Oh the cool change is lovely. It was rather humid to start with but cooled down this afternoon.
We had a few spots of rain but not enough to benefit the garden.
I have been flat out like a lizard drinking. My new job is cleaning ex rental houses and government houses for teachers etc. This week I have cleaned a house everyday and another one tomorrow and in the heat with no electricity. "fun!" I have been exhausted at the end of each day.
CHRISTmas is going to race me this year. We did a full weekend training at short notice last weekend for SES and we successfully passed. This weekend is my mum's 70th birthday, so we are going there. I haven't even got the tree up yet and my daughter is arriving Tuesday from Melbourne. Do I sound stressed? Oh well I will get there I am sure.
Lovely photos Jillian, I love the look of those golden paddocks too, brings back nice memories of when I was a child living on our farm.
Take care,
Tania
What beautiful pictures! It is cold and snow-covered here.
I was really happy to have the cooler day yesterday. The heat has been exhausting me.
Hi Jillian...how refreshing to have rain! I love it when you get a really cool day like that after a really hot day! Praise God anyway! xxx
Hi Ruby,
The storm was VERY welcome here. The weather bureau has forecast a 200% chance of between 80 and 100mm of rain next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - a spin-off from the cyclone in W.A.
I thought that Queensland was supposed to be the rainy state??? :P
Have a great week,
Blessings,
Jillian
Hi Tania,
I LOVE the cooler weather, and I don't mind anything up to 35C, but after that it is stifling.
It sounds as if you have been EXTREMELY busy, but good busy. That is when you feel as if you have accomplished something.
Have a great week,
Blessings,
Jillian
PS - There are only seven days to Christmas. :P
Hi Therese,
Ooh, does that mean that you'll have a White Christmas???
The weather here today was absolutely perfect - about 25C, sunny skies and just a gentle breeze.
Have a great week,
Blessings,
Jillian
Hi Aussie Therese,
You are entitled to be exhausted at your stage of pregnancy. :)
When I was pregnant with my daughter, it was middle of January before I gave birth, and I remember it was so hot. :P
Have a great week,
Blessings,
Jillian
Hi Sarah,
I absolutely LOVE the rain, especially after such hot weather, but we are told to give thanks in all things. :)
Today was absolutely perfect, but where did we spend it - in the car on the way to Adelaide and travelling home again. :P
Have a great week,
Blessings,
Jillian
Yes I believe it is quite rainy in the Tropical Far North :-(
Hi Ruby,
I lived for twelve months in Townsville, and it was VERY wet in the rainy season there!
Blessings,
Jillian
